At-Home Hosting: The Glassware for Your Home Bar

Went on a trip and came back with a new rejuvenation of building spaces that work for you! This series is focused on within one’s means hosting. I am not a big drinker, but have fallen in love with mocktail making, and having a good time on my own accord. I am also romanticizing my life, meaning a lot of drinks use a wine glass, including sparkling water. Honestly, I’m enjoying the beginnings of summer and want to help my introverts (and extroverts) build a bar area that works for them!

Don’t get me wrong, I will still buy a pack of red Solo cups to entertain others, yet I want an upscale vibe for the romantic at-home date night or moms night in with the gals. Crate & Barrel AND Target have great options. Personally, Crate & Barrel (C&B) is more customization friendly because you can buy as many of the lines I may mention to fit your space.

The following glasses are the bare basic and can be used for just about anything: Rock Glass, Highball Glass, Coupe Glass and Wine Glass.

Rock Glasses: C&B’s Impressions Double Old Fashioned — The indentations on the glass make it more comfortable to hold, making me less anxious during a night of fun and clean up a breeze because they are dishwasher safe. The Impressions line is a C&B staple and a set of 4 can cost you under $15!

If you’re wanting acrylic rock glasses for outside events, I suggest C&B’s Swirl Acrylic Double Old Fashioned Glass. It gives the appeal of a casual cup without the worry of your glass breaking.

Highball Glasses: C&B’s Impressions line wins again with their 17oz Cooler Glass. You cannot beat the price of these glasses and it has a comfortable hold. The Vaso Acrylic Highball is a great alternative for outdoors.

Coupe Glasses: Got anything bubbly? Couple glasses, specifically the C&B’s Edge Coupe Glass, allows for anything from sparkling wine to champagne to be served.

Wine Glasses: Until about two years ago, I never realized there was a difference in wine glasses, but C&B wins my heart with their Schott Zwiesel All-Purpose Wine Glass. If I was going to choose a stemless option, I would go with C&B’s Lulie Stemless Wine Glass.

I opt for stemless to minimize accidents and this C&B acrylic stemless is a great option when you want to save yourself on the glass.

Champagne Flutes: Remember, coupe glasses can be used instead of champagne flutes, but if I had to choose some, here’s a stemmed version and a stemless version.

If there’s not a C&B near you or you just a Target gal, here are some other options.
